Haakgat, Bloubergstrand
One of the best riding spots in Table Bay. Haakgat only needs a bit of swell to work and make sure to get it early before it gets too windy and crowded. The waves break off a reef and run nicely down the line. It isn’t a classic point break like Scarborough but still very good on its day.
Haakgat is a 35 min drive from Cape Town International Airport. Cape Town is one of the best kitesurfing destinations worldwide in its windy session.
Professionals from all over the globe come to Cape town to train for kitesurfing events here.
Haakgat is nearest to Melkbosstrand, which is only a few minutes from Table View and 30 min drive from the big city.
Haakgat is known for its wave riding. It is the most popular wave spot in the area. There is a reef break at this spot, which makes the waves higher.
It is also one of the most famous wave spots in Cape Town. If there are wind and swell, this is defiantly the place to be.
